Track and/or Cross Country Scholarship
In Memory of Kara Lyn Ratliff-Lust
Share the Glow Memorial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college-bound Elgin High School seniors based on academic achievement, student statement, and teacher/counselor recommendation, and applicants who have shown participation in track or cross country. However, all applications received will be considered in the selection process.
Scholarships are available to students who are eligible to receive an Elgin High School diploma in the Spring of 2017, and are matriculated to an accredited college or university for Fall 2017. Consideration will be given by means of academic performance, student statement, and teacher/counselor recommendation, as well as the student’s participation in track or cross country (if applicable). Students should submit a scholarship application form available through the Elgin High School Guidance Counselor’s Office or through the sharetheglow.org website.
Scholarships shall be made available to students choosing to attend any accredited college or university pursuing an associate or bachelor degree program, beginning with the 2017 Fall term. Students who receive a scholarship will be eligible to have up to $500.00 per academic year paid toward their tuition costs during the standard period required to obtain a degree, not to exceed two (2) continuous academic years for an associate’s degree, and four (4) continuous academic years for a bachelor’s degree; subsequent upon a scholarship renewal application that will be made available to the recipient. All scholarship funds shall be paid directly to the educational institution. *
Please submit a full application, including the Student Statement and the High School Teacher/Counselor form.
Note: Student, remind your counselor to submit your application and requirements to:

*Members of the Share The Glow Scholarship Team shall be active participants in the award decision, evaluating the applications and assessing how applicants meet the criteria and guidelines set forth in the downloadable document below. The number of scholarships offered each year will be dependent on the monies raised from the Share the Glow annual event and private donations. Scholarships will be determined without regard to the applicant’s race, color, creed, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age. Scholarships will be awarded provided funds are available through the Share the Glow Memorial Scholarship Fund or until which time the Scholarship Donor Board ceases to exist and/or expunges all funds through the award or donation process.
